We are building an end-to-end agent chain across two platforms:
Atlassian Rovo handles agile planning: capturing requirements, unlocking knowledge from Confluence/Jira, producing clean user stories with acceptance criteria, and preparing them for automated downstream processing.
GitLab Duo takes over once the story is ready: an agent receives the Jira story, derives a technical specification from it, creates the branch and code scaffold, writes initial tests, and opens a merge request for review.
Outcome: Working end-to-end prototype, defined handover point Jira ? GitLab, scaling concept
Anforderungen
GitLab Duo Specialist (Specification & Development Kick-off) 2x Build agents that receive a Jira story, specify it technically, and start development.
Build the intake agent: accept the Jira story, pull context from the repository and documentation
Build the specification agent: derive a technical specification from the story (affected components, interfaces, data model, test cases) and submit it for approval
Build the implementation agent: create the branch, generate the code scaffold and initial tests, run the pipeline, and open a merge request with a summary
Write status updates back to Jira
Guardrails: service accounts, scoped tokens, protected branches, mandatory review, audit trail
Demo scenario, documentation, knowledge transfer
No prototypes — focus on scalability
In-depth GitLab expertise: CI/CD, runners, API, webhooks, permission model
Hands-on experience with GitLab Duo (Chat, Code Suggestions, Agentic/Duo Workflows)
LLM integration: prompt design, context provisioning, tool calling, MCP
Solid secure-coding skills in at least one target language (e.g. Python, TypeScript, Java)
Security awareness: secrets handling, mandatory review of AI-generated code
